Spotlight on Learning:  Art Reach Field Trip

Graphic Arts 10-12 took the opportunity to look at the current gallery exhibition at The Reach. They played with the interactive pieces and learned about sports culture and identity intertwined with contemporary art and design.

WJM Staff at the BIG RED GOLF Tournament (Adam Hobbs)

Many of our WJM community will remember WJM grad Adam Hobbs who took his own life after his battle with mental health. Adam's Brother Zach is graduating this year - older brother Brandon graduated a few years ago.   Kudos to the WJM staff members Paul Gill, Jon Rahe, Joel McCall, Parm Jaswal who played in the tournament representing WJM and to our admin team for their donation to the Big Red Mental Health Society in Adam’s name. For more information on the society go to their website below.

Shout out to our  Vinyl Graphics students who were involved in making all the signs and banners for the Big Red Mental Health Society golf tournament.  Including stand up banners, hole sponsors, banners, graphic stickers. etc. A big job completed in two days.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Jayda Taekema, one of several Indigenous Mouat grads, who was celebrated at the Indigenous Grade 12 Awards Ceremony on Thursday. Your achievements make us proud to be hawks.

THANK YOU

Thank you to the Mr. Nera and the student ushers who supported our anxious grads off the stage, down some wobble stairs and onto their scholarships and pictures!

Mural Takes Shape and Form

Kaia Bath has been hard at work on the mural in front of the ELL room. Kaia has devoted 20 hours working on this project within the past two weeks with some assistance from Harlan Bullock, Amelia Ilnicki, Sam Price, and Yasmeen van Shaik as well as moral support, feedback and encouragement from many students including Drawing and Painting 10-12 and the Extended Day Art class. The mural is meant to represent the beauty of the natural setting where we reside. Make sure to check it out and let Kaia know you’ve seen it
