Class of 2022 – Graduation Dinner and Dance (Prom)

This year your prom dinner and dance will be held at Newlands Golf and Country Club in Langley. This is a beautiful facility, very fitting for your special celebration. There will be many opportunities to take photos, reminisce and celebrate with your classmates. Remember that your prom is a school event, and we expect your conduct to be in keeping with our high standards at WJ Mouat. Below is a list of guidelines designed to ensure everyone has a terrific evening.

Board restricts the use of artificial turf sports field

After months of negotiations, the Abbotsford Board of Education failed to reach an agreement with the City of Abbotsford around the artificial turf sports field located at Abbotsford Senior Secondary. At the June 14, 2022 in-camera meeting, the Board determined that the ongoing capital replacement and maintenance costs necessary to maintain the artificial turf sports field Agreement with the city would significantly impact the school district's budget.

Spotlight on Learning:  Art Reach Field Trip

Graphic Arts 10-12 took the opportunity to look at the current gallery exhibition at The Reach. They played with the interactive pieces and learned about sports culture and identity intertwined with contemporary art and design.

WJ Mouat wins national careers competition for 6th time

School among 282 across nation that competed to be ‘Canada’s Most Informed’

W. J. Mouat Secondary in Abbotsford has won a national competition in career exploration.

The Let’s Talk Careers event was held by Skills Canada, Let’s Talk Science and ChatterHigh to engage students in career discovery and exploration.

The event ran from April 11 to May 20 on the ChatterHigh platform and gave students the opportunity to learn about careers in the skilled trades, technologies and STEM (science, technology, engineering and math).

As we continue to celebrate National Indigenous History Month, we invite you to take part in a learning opportunity.

In 2018, Robert Bateman Secondary offered a unique Art Activism class, which empowered students to become leaders in their community through art. Every year students take on a different social issue and seek to make a difference and promote awareness through community art fundraising events.

Three Abbotsford students receive Beedie Luminaries scholarships

Program recognizes youths’ academic potential and ‘resilience and resolve’

Three Grade 12 Abbotsford students have been named recipients of the Beedie Luminaries scholarship of up to $40,000.

Eun Sim and Navjot Garcha of W. J. Mouat Secondary and Nicole Rempel of Yale Secondary are among 157 recipients from 81 high schools in 30 communities across the province.
