Covid Update February 2022

February 25, 2022

Last week, our Superintendent shared an updated that highlighted Dr. Bonnie Henry’s announced planned changes to public health orders over the coming days and weeks, focusing on resuming more types of activities and events.  We understand that there are varying levels of comfort as we begin to move towards the next stage in our provincial Restart Plan, but ultimately this is exciting news for our community and serves as a signal of better days ahead.

Guidelines for K-12 Setting

While our school begins to return to the operational parameters from this past fall, several health a safety measures will remain in place until further notice. These include:

Conducting Daily Health Checks;

  1. Mask wearing in accordance with the Provincial Health Officer Order for all K-12 students and staff;
  2. Regular hand hygiene;
  3. Maintaining physical distancing where possible; and
  4. Staying home when you are sick.

At our school we will also implement visitor sign in and health checks, and reduced capacity limits at events with spectators.

Rapid Antigen Tests

The Ministry of Education has also shipped rapid antigen tests to our school for distribution to students. Each student will receive one box, which includes five individual tests. Guidance for parents on how to use the tests is available.

We have not yet received our shipment of tests but will notify families when we do and what our distribution process will look like. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Next Steps

The safety and well-being of our students, families, and staff remains our highest priority.
